Why is Snowdonia the most mapped part of Great Britain?
It’s quickly becoming our most popular destination series of SplashMaps and, since we introduced our “ask the expert” to position the maps perfectly, there is a Snowdonia Map specifically designed for every adventure. Expert input means you’re unlikely to get lost “at the edge” of a map. They hate the usual limited scope of popularly published paper maps and have designed in sensible overlaps so each map can stand alone!
Ask the expert to position the maps perfectly
- NEW: Take on every Snowdonia hike and climb? Snowdonia Award North and South 2-part series maps. These are large area 1:25k Ordnance Survey explorer style maps positioned by the Youth leader at Conwy Duke of Edinburgh Award. Matty Bowman positioned these two maps so that they cover every conceivable route you’d need in the very best detail on the planet! The result is more beautiful Ordnance Survey line-work than you would every see… even on paper. The two maps are both 1.4m long and 1m wide and cover 900 square kms each! Between them they capture 85% of the national park from the North down. Buy them here, or ask to borrow them when at Conwy (they have a stock).

Established: Looking for longer distances on 2 legs, 2 wheels or 4 legs? Snowdonia Destination series provides compact completeness: North, Snowdon, Central and South were all positioned by Malcolm Streeton, mountain leader to capture the main mountain clusters. These 4 maps cover the whole of the park between them at a scale of 1:40 000. They are amazing for trail detail as the bridle and foot paths stick-out thanks to the unique SplashMaps cartography, specifically designed for fabric. Because they are smaller scale a larger area is covered. Our standard 73 x 73 square gives you 28 x 28km sections each, and the South map (positioned by DofE leader Steve Layte) covers an even larger area to accommodate Bala to Barmouth challenges beloved of the DofE.

Newish! Fashion conscious, chilly-necked or helmet haired? The Toob for Snowdonia is based upon the Snowdonia Central Map and covers all trails to Snowdon’s peak. The popular headwear format provides a great chance to lighten your load as your map doubles-up as a comfortable head and neck warmer.
- Like giving something back? Our Yr Wyddfa/ Snowdon SplashMap was positioned by the National Park Authority themselves to take all the routes to the summit! It’s an Ordnance Survey 1:25k, has the NPA badge on it AND for each one purchased SplashMaps donate 10% of the sale to the upkeep of the Snowdonia National Park!
- You’re better than the experts? And naturally, if you don’t like where our experts positioned the SplashMaps, you can design one for yourself! Our Make-a-Map personalised map service will position an Ordnance Survey 1:25k SplashMap wherever you like in the Park and beyond!
