Your Map Style is completely “you”. If you love maps enough to wear them then there are increasing options, the latest of which is the SplashMaps’ waistcoat.
Nottingham, California
Ken Field ordered his waistcoat from California (where he now lives). As soon as his order was placed we introduced him to our amazing seamstress, Allana. She ran through the sizing and literally 20 000 cut and fabric combinations. She was easily able to match his requirements exactly.
Inspired by Ordnance Survey Explorer
Ken wanted something that reminded him of his past in Nottingham. The back of the waistcoat was centred exactly where he wanted and produced as a 1:25k Ordnance Survey map. He went for an orange Harris tweed as this most closely matched the cover of his Ordnance Survey explorer map of the area.
Finishing touches
It’s all about finishing touches when you get things made bespoke. Allana was able to create unique buttons for the waistcoat exploiting off-cut areas of the map.
The results?
Let’s leave that to Ken.
“My splashmaps waistcoat has arrived and….it’s spectacular! I went with the orange tweed because that’s the colour of the front of an Ordnance Survey Explorer map. It seemed to make sense to me given the back print. It fits really well.”
Ken’s waistcoat took just 6 weeks from order to delivery.
