The indestructible Scott Forbes, “The Fabric Map Flyer” and Team SplashMaps’ Ultra Marathon Runner, is clocking up some amazing wins this season.
This season Scott bagged the first Team SplashMaps Ultra Marathon Silver by coming second in the grueling muddy slog of the Thames Trot 50 mile race organised by Go Beyond Ultra. He followed these with Gold at both the Maverick and Three Forts races with more than a mile between him and the second guy.
” The miles just rolled by and with all the climbing I suddenly found myself all alone in the clouds with about 5 miles to go. So on the final climb I was able to keep a solid run pace going and pushed hard on the descent to get the win by almost 14 minutes,” explains Scott.
As a British Airways 777 Pilot Scott trains in the most exotic locations and has a firm philosophy over his training and nutrition regime. This year he’s pounded up Mt Fuji, circled Central Park and cruised the Brazilian beaches in training for the challenges of the Downs. The Fabric Map Flyer always has a SplashMap with him to find his way back to the hotel.
